How long will PERMADOCK last?
Scores of off-shore drilling rigs have had exterior manways of the materials used for PERMADOCK in place for decades; some for as longs as 45 years.  There has been no evidence of deterioration.  Without undue abuse and with reasonable preventive maintenance, PERMADOCK should outlast one's mortgage or bond issue.  Current resins and technology have made significant advancements over the first generation 45 years ago.  The PERMADOCK limited warranty extends for 50 years.

What dockside reagents will react with PERMADOCK?
A few of the more violent organic solvents, if PERMADOCK is immersed in them for an extended period, will penetrate the protective veil and react with the resin, e.g., acetone, benzene, ketone, toluene, xylene.  Spills and splashes normally evaporate long before any damage to PERMADOCK.  If in doubt, ask us for our Corrosion Resistance Guide.

Will PERMADOCK Pultruded Fiberglass spall or sliver?
The chemical veil applied to PERMADOCK's structural pultrusions and railing has survived all tests, life and accelerated life, and has suffered no field failures over several decades.  PERMADOCK's non-skid surface, under heavy commercial usage, may need periodic coating with two-part epoxy resin paint.

Will PERMADOCK survive storm and heavy vessel impacts?
Like a fiberglass fishing rod, PERMADOCK, as a fiberglass structure, shares the fishing rod's ability to absorb massive sudden loads with full recovery.  The size for size relative strenghths of wood and pultruded fiberglass are:

What about PERMADOCK's adhesives?
The glass window walls on high-rise buildings are held on with some of the same adhesives used by PERMADOCK.  The Boeing 777 and Deamliner are largely plastic composite structures held together with space age adhesives as used on PERMADOCK.  We have exhaustively tested the adhesive joints, and ahve found that base material fails before the adhesive.
