Pultruded Fiberglass
You're already familiar with fiberglass - your boat is probably made of it. There is a major difference, though. The glass fibers in your boat are laid up in a mish-mash order - the hairs go in all directions, embedded in the epoxy, and the whole thing is covered in gelcoat.

The pultrusion process uses continuous and parallel fiberglass strands throughout the length of each unit. This increases the strength of each member dramatically. Pultruded fiberglass is used throughout heavy industry because of its impressive strength/weight ratio, ability to resist corrosion, and dimensional stability (among other important and unique features).

All PERMADOCK materials are corrosion resistant steel or nonferrous polymers.

No galvanized, aluminum, wood, or concrete is used.

PERMADOCK pultrusions all have complete ultraviolet veiling.

All PERMADOCK pultruded fiberglass shapes are manufactured under ISO-9001:2000 certification.

In addition to adhesives, all PEMADOCK structural joints
are doubled up with 316 CRES gussets and bolts.

PERMADOCKS's adhesives meet or exceed ASTMD 1002-64
.

Scores of off-shore drilling rigs have had exterior manways of the materials used for PERMADOCK in place for decades.
There has been no evidence of deterioration.
Under normal use and with reasonable preventive maintenance, PERMADOCK should outlast one's mortgage or bond issue.
